What a face!
We had a little excitement on station this morning- a crabeater seal climbed up out of the boat landing decided to nap on the road. This is the first time since I've been here that this has happened and the first time I've gotten a close look at this kind of seal. When their fur is dry it turns a gold-gray color and they have very sweet faces.
Unfortunately, we needed to drive on the road, so the Kirstie, who's working on station as a birder but has worked with seals before, the station manager and the boating coordinator had to encourage the seal to get back in the water.

It must be your gift from the jolly ol' leprechaun! Happy St. Patty's day! I hope that they have some green beer for you this mornin'! I will be at work all day, but am looking forward to celebrating later on (if my friends are still standing). I miss you!
